5 Years of 365 Day Media Group

Building a company is hard work.

It doesn’t happen overnight. It has hills and valleys. There are so many moments when you want to throw in the towel, and then something good happens. And just when you think you have crested the hill, a pandemic hits.

My journey with 365 Day Media Group has been that and more. But no matter what, it has been a journey I am proud to say I am on.

I have been an “entrepreneur” since the 90s. It took me a long time to consider myself an entrepreneur. Yes, I started up my own event management company and ran it successfully for 20 years, but I always thought of entrepreneurs as the Mark Zuckerbergs and Sarah Blakelys of the world.

In 2014, when I was looking for a change and met with my business coach Diane Lloyd of Inspired Results Group, I was tired and losing passion for what I was doing. So, through several  sessions, out bloomed a new idea.

An idea that encompassed many of my strengths (thank you Strengths Finder by Tom Rath) and made me excited again to start building something new. Something that fed my need to be creative, help others, mentor youth, help small business owners, continue learning and so much more.

A year later, 365 Day Media Group was born.

My business model was always two-fold. Help small businesses and events grow through organic and original social media content. Mentor university and college students as they gain experience through working in a creative, flexible business.

My experience running an event management company has helped us gain some of the biggest event clients over the last five years, including the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon, TC10K, Goddess Run, Tour de Victoria and more. It lights me up to combine my experiences to provide marketing and social media to these events.

We have worked with realtors and real estate brokerages, financial advisors, small business retail owners, business coaches, non-profit agencies and more.

We’ve gone from thinking Facebook and Twitter were the answers to everything (5 years ago they were) to bringing in Instagram and now TikTok into the fray. Where Instagram is now the place where we live the most with feeds, stories, iGTV, and Reels.

We started the company with the intention that you needed to be posting 365 days a year to be seen and heard. Quantity was key, organic growth was simpler, and Facebook ads were something only a few did.

Now we are firm in our belief of quality over quantity. We work hard to tell the story of the client. Social media is about building relationships, and building relationships is all about the stories we tell. The connections we make with the audience are who they will remember.

We change what and how we tell this story constantly to stay on top of trends yet still stay true to our client. Each client is unique and treated as such. There is no cookie-cutter answer to doing social media at 365 Day Media Group.

In 2019 I purchased Social Media Camp, with 365 Day Media Group being the producers of this event. It is another way to show how important and progressive social media has become for businesses of all sizes.

And now, as we are all navigating the world of 2020, one that none of us will ever forget, we are working to keep our clients still in the forefront. We are working to help expand how they are seen. We are helping them pivot how they do business during a pandemic.

We are in constant conversations with our team, and our clients, as to our messaging. It is an incredibly difficult time to be a business owner. But it is the challenge that makes us stronger.

To all of our 365 team, past and present, thank you so much for being part of this incredible journey. Nothing makes me prouder than seeing the students graduate and working in their field of choice.

To our clients, thank you for taking this small business and helping us grow alongside you.

Cheers to our 5th anniversary!

With love, Tami
